Griffin Goldsmith (born November 12, 1990) is a professional Drummer / Percussionist / Vocalist, hailing from Los Angeles California. After retiring from a possible career of extremely amateur middle school baseball, at age 13, he was sucked into the family business of music. Goldsmith, along with his elder brother Taylor, and rhythmic counterpart Wylie Gelber, formed the band Dawes. He has been honing and harmonizing his skills ever since. Although Dawes is very much considered his primary concern, Goldsmith has had the pleasure of playing alongside such greats as, Jackson Browne, John Fogerty, Robbie Robertson, Elvis Costello, world renowned drummer Jim Keltner and countless other contemporaries, both live and on record.
Griffin has been featured by such publications as DRUM! Magazine, Modern Drummer and Drumhead Mag. Goldsmith is frequently seen playing C&C Drums, Paiste Cymbals, AHEAD Drumsticks, LP Percussion and many other pieces of custom rhythmic paraphernalia built for him by Dawes bass player Wylie Gelber.
