Larry Villanueva is a versatile drummer playing Rock, R&B, Country, Jazz, Tropical Cumbia, Norteño, Tejano and Conjunto music. He has appeared in numerous of Television Shows, Recordings and Music Videos.
"I started drumming at the age of 8, and by age 12 I was playing locally with bands in my home town of Greeley, Colorado. I moved to San Antonio, Texas when I was 16 and played professionally with artist such as City View Band, Oscar G, Patsy Torres, Joel Nava, Elsa Garcia, Ram Herrera, Elida Reyna, Jay Perez, Joel Guzman, Stefani Montiel, Joe Lopez y Grupo Mazz and New Mexico music artist Gonzalo. I have filled in as a backup drummer for David Lee Garza y Los Musicales, Judy Deleon and other musical acts in different genres.
My drumming influences are Dennis Chambers, John Bonham, Richard Solis, Adam Garza, Adolfo Garcia.
As a Drummer, it's important to play with the band and listen. To create a strong foundation from which the band can build upon. Over the years a consistent compliment I have received from other musicians is my discipline to establish a solid Pocket and never over play the music. Having worked with Ram Herrera and The Outlaw Band in the past I'm familiar with Ram's desire to deliver an outstanding performance for those who love to dance and those that like to be entertained with great music and show.”
