Drummer, songwriter and founding member of Death Dealer Union. A California native raised in Santa Barbara California, CC moved to Los Angeles proper in the mid 90’s where he played in several prominent acts in the LA Metal scene working as both a session and touring drummer. McKenna’s style has evolved over the years with influences ranging from Neil Peart, Stewart Copeland, Lars Ulrich, Tommy Lee, Scott Barker, Scott Travis and Terry Bozzio. Another huge influence on CC was Dave Lombardo. Dave and his aggressive double bass drumming gave McKenna’s double bass playing a new goal. Drummers that CC looks to today are Zev Rose, Mario Duplantier, Gene Hoglan and Brooke Colucci.
CC is still continuing to study and refine his playing today with great teachers like Terry Bozzio.
CC McKenna’s equipment currently consists of DW Drums and Hardware, Zildjian and Paiste Cymbals, AHEAD Drumsticks and Gloves.
