Trey Macias is a dynamic percussionist and musician based in Los Angeles, California. Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, he cultivated a deep appreciation for rhythm and musical storytelling at an early age and studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA earning a Bachelor of Arts in Hand Percussion Performance.
Since relocating to Los Angeles in 2013, Trey has built a versatile career spanning live performances, TV appearances, and studio recordings, most recently being featured on Cynthia Erivo’s 2025 album “I Forgive You”. He has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Jon Batiste and Lil Wayne, and has contributed his percussive intuition in a wide range of genres for stages of The Emmy Awards and The Voice.
In addition to his performance work, Trey is an active music content creator on social media. He shares his insights on the roles of percussion instruments through his Instagram series “Did you hear #ThatPecussionPart ?“ and engages with a broader audience about the history of Pop Music through the YouTube channel Digging The Greats. His passion for rhythm and storytelling continues to inspire and connect with people worldwide.
